Task & responsibilities
- Lead, guide and inspire the kitchen team to deliver the best results.
- Prepare and cook meals and supervise the preparation of meals by kitchen staff.
- Manage kitchen consumables, stock takes, ordering, cost control and budgeting.
- Develop, test, and introduce new menu items.
- Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards
- Work alongside the management team
Qualification & experience
- Possess excellent relevant post-secondary hospitality (cooking) qualifications, to at least Certificate IV/Diploma level.
- Have at least 1 to 2 years professional experience since earning your qualifications.
- Are available across the working week including weekends and nights.
- Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
- Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
- Understand cost control, time management, prioritization, and cost-efficient procurement practices.
- Have substantial experience working in a similar role / cuisine / environment.
- You are an excellent people manager, with great comms skills, able to get the most out of your team.
