Salary: $79,500 per annum + superannuation (each position)
About the Role
Friars Cafe is seeking two qualified and experienced Chefs to join our kitchen team. These roles are essential to supporting our growing operations, maintaining food quality, and ensuring efficient kitchen service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Plan menus and estimate food and labour costs
- Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
- Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise wastage
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and WHS regulations
- Supervise and train kitchen staff including cooks and kitchen hands
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Coordinate kitchen operations to ensure efficient and timely service
Skills and Minimum Requirements (MANDATORY):
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management (or equivalent qualifications)
- Minimum 2–3 years of full-time work experience as a Chef
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety standards, and cost control procedures
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
