We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our kitchen team and contribute to delivering high-quality Indian cuisine in a busy restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning menus and estimating food and labour costs in consultation with management
- Preparing and cooking a variety of authentic Indian dishes, including curries, biryanis and tandoori specialities
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to maintain consistency
- Supervising and coordinating kitchen staff during food preparation and service periods
- Training and guiding junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and food preparation procedures
- Ordering food supplies and maintaining stock control
- Ensuring kitchen operations comply with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety regulations
Skills and Experience
- Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent successor qualification
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, spices and traditional cooking techniques, including tandoor cooking
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills
- Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices
