Task & responsibilities

• Planning menus, create and develop new seasonal menus
• Manage kitchen inventory, control costs, and ensure minimum wastage
• Regularly monitor the quality, taste, and consistency of all food served
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Discussing food preparation issues with the owner, the manager, kitchen and wait staff;
• Hire, train, and track team member performance
• Storing, preparing, cooking and plating foods

Qualification & experience

• Excellent English skills
• The right to work in Australia 
• Certificate IV in commercial cookery or relevant qualification related to the field
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience
• Team management skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong time management skills
• Proficiency in all aspects of food safety
• Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
• Able to work as a team - with kitchen hands and weekend casual
• Sound knowledge of general day to day ordering
• Cleanliness and stock rotation a high requirement
