Trading as EMPIRE HOTEL BISTRO, we are looking for a qualified and passionate Chef to join our dynamic team serving a busy bistro setting. You’ll work with the team of Kitchen staff to in this busy and vibrant venue, which serves bistro style food plus full menu. This is a creative role and provides the right candidate the opportunity to work within an excellent team. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, self motivated and have a passion for delivering fine quality meals. We are located at 6 Barton Street Cobar NSW 2835.

Task & responsibilities

The duties you will be expected to complete in this position include but are not limited to:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes as per our standards.
• Creating menus with flair and innovation having regard to our stock
• Season and patron preferences
• Ensure patron satisfaction & experience by delivering dishes to expectation
• Monitoring stock level and ordering accordingly to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Monitoring food preservation and rotation to ensure minimal wastage
• Assisting and training kitchen staff in understanding dish preparation and ingredients
• Aiding in the selection and training of kitchen staff.
• Managing kitchen staff
• Ensuring health regulations are met at all times by all kitchen and waiting staff.

Qualification & experience

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery preferred.
• At least 2 years of work experience in similar work environment.
• Good communication skills
• Be consistent and able to work well in a team
• Be able to perform well under pressure
• Passion for great food
• Well presented, motivated, hardworking and honest
