We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in menu development, kitchen operations, and team leadership while maintaining the highest culinary and service standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and creation of all food menus.
- Produce high-quality dishes that are visually appealing and delicious.
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and meets quality standards.
- Take charge of issues that arise in the kitchen and resolve them resourcefully.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, establish rosters, and assess staff performance.
- Order supplies and manage stock to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Enforce and comply with food safety, sanitation, and WHS standards.
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
Skills & Experience Required
- A level of skill commensurate with a formal qualification plus three years of relevant experience OR at least three years of relevant experience as a Chef in the hospitality industry in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures.
- Proven record of kitchen and staff management.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations with speed and accuracy.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Working knowledge of relevant computer software (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
