Kasuree Indian Restaurant is seeking a passionate chef to join our kitchen team who has the following skills.

A sound understanding of Indian cuisine, strong cooking skills with the ability to work independently in a fast paced kitchen.

The position is a full time position working 38 hours a week.

Task & responsibilities

• Preparing a variety of Indian dishes including curries, biryanis, tandoori specialties and breads.
• Maintaining a high standard of cooking during service, managing quality of dishes.
• Adjusting dishes to client's orders.
• Manage stock levels, ordering as required. Checking freshness of stock.
• Collaborate with head chef adjusting menus to the seasons and designing specials.
• Manage junior kitchen staff as required.
•  Maintaining high hygiene standards meeting all OH&S requirements.

Qualification & experience

We require the applicant to have completed tertiary qualifications in Commercial Cookery and have a minimum of 3 years experience working in a commercial kitchen.
