About the Role

You know the moment when a digital world comes together. A character moves, the lighting hits just right, the mechanics click — and suddenly it works.

Now imagine helping the next wave of creatives experience that moment.

This role invites you to bring your game design and creative digital media expertise into the classroom. Teaching emerging creatives how to design, build and refine digital experiences using industry-relevant tools and techniques. Every class is different, every student brings fresh ideas, and your industry insight helps turn curiosity into capability!

You’ll work with a supportive, forward-thinking teaching team who stay current, share ideas, and support one another. Creativity, adaptability and energy matter here — classes are hands-on, future-focused and deeply connected to industry practice.

Some key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and deliver engaging digital media and game design classes
  • Teach using tools such as Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender and Adobe suite
  • Assess student work across classroom, online and flexible delivery modes
  • Create learning experiences reflecting current industry practice
  • Collaborate with colleagues on course delivery and improvement
  • Maintain industry currency and teaching capability

About You:

You’re a creative technologist at heart — part designer, part developer, part storyteller. You enjoy sharing what you know and seeing others grow through practice and experimentation. Additionally, you will have:

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122/TAE40116 or equivalent)
  • Relevant vocational qualifications to deliver Certificate III in Screen and Media, Certificate III in Design Fundamentals, Certificate IV in Visual Arts and Diploma in Graphic Design

Demonstrated and current knowledge, relevant skills and industry experience

  • Screen and media skills encompass technical and creative abilities required for content creation, digital production, and entertainment. Essential proficiencies include cinematography, sound recording, 2D/3D animation, visual effects, and post-production
  • Demonstrated web design skills, including development of interactive content using HTML and CSS
  • Digital media programs including Blender and Adobe Creative Suite: Dreamweaver, Animate, Premier Pro
  • Additional skills Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat on both PC and Mac platforms (advantageous)
  • Interactive game design skills including experience with Unreal Engine and Unity software
  • Well-developed knowledge of design to enhance both aesthetic considerations and user experience.

Salary Range:

Casual Teacher L1 | $91.42 (teaching) and $62.14 (non-teaching) per hour | AQF4 teaching qualification

Casual Teacher L2 | $95.01 (teaching) and $64.58 (non-teaching) per hour | AQF5 teaching qualification

Casual Teacher L3 | $98.77 (teaching) and $67.10 (non-teaching) per hour | AQF6+ teaching qualification

Superannuation is paid at the current superannuation guarantee rate.
