Carpet Layer - Bondi Carpets

The Carpet Layer will be responsible for the professional installation of carpet, vinyl, hybrid, laminate, and timber flooring across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. This role demands strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety standards. Task & responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified Carpet layer who will be responsible for:

• Measuring and preparing floor surfaces for installation of carpet and various flooring materials
• Cutting, trimming, and joining carpets with accuracy to achieve seamless finishes
• Installing carpet, vinyl planks, hybrid, laminate, and timber flooring in accordance with job specifications and design layouts
• Applying adhesives, underlays, grippers, and finishing materials to secure flooring installations
• Inspecting floors and carrying out repairs, patching, or replacement of damaged sections where required
• Operating hand and power tools safely and effectively in performing installation and finishing work
• Reading and interpreting drawings, work orders, and plans to determine installation requirements
• Liaising with clients, builders, and team members to coordinate project delivery and resolve technical queries
• Advising clients on flooring options, maintenance requirements, and best practice installation methods
• Maintaining work areas in a clean and orderly condition and ensuring tools and equipment remain in proper working order
• Adhering to all workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations and company policies
• Using tools, equipment, and materials safely and correctly to prevent injury and damage
• Identifying and reporting hazards or unsafe site conditions promptly
• Ensuring correct manual handling techniques are used when lifting or moving heavy flooring products
• Wearing and maintaining appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times

Qualification & experience

The minimum requirements for the position are: 

• A relevant qualification at the level of an AQF Certificate III in carpet and flooring installation, or, in the absence of such qualification, at least three years of relevant work experience in carpet and flooring installation may be accepted as a substitute 
• Demonstrated ability to install carpet, vinyl, hybrid, laminate, and timber flooring in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
