Carpenter — Fitout Delivery
Storepro | Full-Time | Melbourne-based with site travel
Storepro has been delivering retail environments for Australia's most recognised brands for 25 years — and we're still building. This isn't a tools-down, follow-the-run-sheet kind of role. You'll work across our Melbourne workshop and project sites, contributing to fabrication, installation, and the logistics of getting materials and fixtures where they need to be. As you grow into the role, you'll also take on something most carpentry jobs don't offer — the chance to build a waste tracking and material management process from scratch, shaping how Storepro accounts for environmental outcomes across every project we deliver. If you're a carpenter who takes pride in how a job is run, not just how it looks at handover, this is where that counts.
The Role
You'll sit across Storepro's manufacturing and delivery teams, working hands-on through the full fitout lifecycle — from workshop fabrication through to on-site installation and project close-out. As you settle in, you'll take ownership of developing our waste tracking and material management practices, building a process that works in the real conditions of a commercial fitout floor.
What You'll Be Doing
Fitout Delivery
- Contribute to carpentry, joinery installation, and general fitout works across retail store projects — new builds, refits, and rollouts
- Support the workshop manufacturing team with fabrication, quality checking, and component preparation for site
- Assist with site preparation, fixture installation, and handover snagging
- Contribute to deliveries to and from site, ensuring materials and fixtures are transported, received, and handled correctly
- Coordinate with delivery teams on logistics, sequencing, and on-site material handling
- Operate safely across workshop and live retail environments in line with WHS requirements
Waste Tracking & Environmental Initiatives
- Observe and document current material flows across the fitout lifecycle — from workshop offcuts and packaging waste through to site strip-out and dilapidation
- Design and implement a simple, practical waste tracking process that can be used consistently across projects
- Establish on-site waste separation and diversion practices and build buy-in from the broader site and delivery teams
- Maintain project-level records of material volumes, waste streams, and diversion outcomes
- Bring practical trade observations back to the project team — where materials are being wasted, where substitutions could reduce landfill, where fixture systems could be designed for disassembly or reuse
- Develop the process into something Storepro can report against and present to clients as part of project close-out documentation
What You'll Need
Required
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification
- Minimum 2–3 years post-trade experience, ideally in commercial fitout or retail environments
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Valid driver's licence
- Strong eye for detail and material quality
Valued
- Experience working across both workshop fabrication and on-site installation
- Familiarity with waste separation or material diversion practices on commercial sites
- Comfortable contributing observations and practical suggestions to a project team, not just executing instructions
- An interest in how things are built to last — or designed to be taken apart
