Sutcliffe Meats is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Butcher to join our growing team in New South Wales.

 

Sutcliffe Meats is a proudly Australian-owned premium butcher business specialising in high-quality Australian meat products, handcrafted smallgoods, customer service excellence, and traditional butchery standards. The business operates across multiple retail locations and is committed to delivering premium-quality products, food safety compliance, and professional retail butcher services to customers throughout New South Wales.

 

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Butcher to support the preparation, processing, presentation, and retail supply of meat products within a fast-paced commercial butcher environment.

 

Position Details:

·       Position: Butcher

·       Employment Type: Full-time

·       Location: New South Wales

·       Salary: AUD 76,515 – AUD 80,000 per annum plus superannuation

·       Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week

 

Key Responsibilities:

·       Preparing, cutting, trimming, boning, slicing, and portioning meat products for retail sale

·       Processing beef, lamb, pork, poultry, and other meat products in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards

·       Using knives, band saws, mincers, slicers, and other butchery equipment safely and efficiently

·       Preparing value-added products including sausages, marinated meats, and specialty cuts

·       Maintaining product presentation, stock rotation, freshness, and quality control standards

·       Receiving, inspecting, storing, and handling meat deliveries and stock

·       Providing customer service and product recommendations regarding meat preparation and cooking methods

·       Monitoring stock levels and assisting with inventory management and ordering processes

·       Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, equipment, storage areas, and retail displays

·       Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and food handling regulations

·       Working collaboratively with team members to support daily operations and customer service standards

 

Skills & Experience Required:

·       Relevant qualification in Meat Processing, Butchery, or related field preferred

·       Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, AQF Certificate IV, or at least three years of relevant industry experience

·       Previous experience working in a retail or commercial butcher environment preferred

·       Strong knife-handling and meat preparation skills

·       Knowledge of meat cuts, portion control, food safety, and stock rotation procedures

·       Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

·       Strong communication and customer service skills

·       Professional presentation, reliability, and strong work ethic
