Overview
Profectus is seeking an experienced ICT Business Analyst to support the delivery and sustainment of secure digital capability within an Australian Government Defence environment. This role suits a someone who is comfortable operating in highly secure, time-sensitive settings where reliability, accuracy, and a strong understanding of business need are essential. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to translate business requirements into well-defined technical solutions which support important regulatory and operational processes. This is an opportunity to apply your analysis expertise in a Defence context, supporting systems that demand precision, compliance, and a user-centric approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse and review current business processes to identify efficiencies and improvements to service delivery and customer satisfaction

• Develop structured approaches and formats for business areas to capture and provide technical requirements

• Translate complex business needs into clear technical specifications for development teams

• Validate ICT design specifications to ensure they remain user-centric and fit for purpose

• Collaborate with project and delivery managers to maintain alignment between business objectives and ICT solutions

• Support system enhancement and sustainment activities across the delivery lifecycle

• Plan and conduct User Acceptance Testing to validate system changes and enhancements

• Contribute to change management activities, including communication and training materials for end users

• Identify and mitigate risks associated with ICT solutions and process changes

Required Experience

• Demonstrated experience in ICT system enhancement and integration within a secure government environment (Defence environment preferred)

• Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications

• Strong process analysis skills with a focus on efficiency, service delivery, and user outcomes

• Experience planning and supporting User Acceptance Testing and structured requirements gathering

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Demonstrated commitment to upholding and promoting the Australian Public Service (APS) Values

Desirable Experience

• Experience supporting regulatory, permit, or assessment-based systems within government

• Familiarity with workflow automation and reporting platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate and Power BI

• Background in change management and end-user enablement

• Understanding of contemporary delivery frameworks and structured requirements practice

• Exposure to working within embedded, multidisciplinary delivery teams

Security Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen

• Must hold a current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance (minimum)

Working Arrangements

• 100% onsite in Canberra

• Work is conducted within secure Australian Government Defence environments
