Our Natural Area Projects team have several term contract opportunities for people who are passionate about our natural areas to join our team. This hands-on operational role will see you performing bush regeneration, revegetation restoration works, fire mitigation and APZ works to advance and protect our natural environment.
You will work within our reputable City Presentation Department and join a progressive team who live their passion and purpose every day.
Your key focus areas are:
Perform manual tasks contributing to bush regeneration and/or fire mitigation on project sites, as directed, including, but not limited to, tree planting, weed management, brush cutting and environmental monitoring
Assist in the implementation of integrated weed control techniques, including hand removal, mechanical removal and chemical application
Work effectively and responsibly in high conservation areas and undertaking surveys/ monitoring as required
Work with maximum efficiency in nominated natural areas to restore degraded vegetation and other site values
Participating in team meetings as required and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing improvement in operations and health and safety

We’re looking for someone who cares deeply about protecting and restoring the natural environment. You have hands-on experience in bush regeneration and make safety a priority in your work. You are motivated, reliable, and committed to using best practices to help our team maintain healthy, diverse, and sustainable natural areas.
What you will bring:
Qualifications, or equivalent experience and qualifications, in a relevant discipline such as Certificate II Conservation and Ecosystem Management or similar qualification or be working towards
Demonstrated experience in practical conservation and land management activities
Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of local plant communities and vegetation management techniques
Demonstrated understanding of the values and threats to natural environments
Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a team member, and demonstrated a high level of performance in previous positions
Good communication skills, and experience communicating with concerned stakeholders
Current Class C Manual Drivers Licence

Competitive salary from $1112.66 - $1293.10 a week plus 12% superannuation
Commencing salary set in line with skills and experience with annual reviews available to support movement through the salary range
