The Building Associate provides technical and administrative support in the coordination, supervision, inspection, and documentation of construction activities across renewable energy and building infrastructure projects. The role assists project engineers and construction managers in ensuring that building and installation works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The position focuses on site coordination, quality assurance, compliance monitoring, and construction documentation.

Job Duties
- Assist in interpreting engineering drawings, site plans, and structural layouts for solar and building infrastructure projects
- Support site engineers and supervisors in coordinating construction activities for rooftop and ground-mounted solar installation projects.
- Conduct inspections of structural mounting systems, building interfaces, and construction works to ensure compliance with design specifications
- Assist in verifying site measurements, levels, and layout accuracy prior to and during construction activities
- Collect and document site data including progress records, measurements, and as-built construction information
- Coordinate with subcontractors and installation teams to ensure proper sequencing of construction activities and site readiness
- Identify and report construction defects, structural issues, and non-conformance to engineers or project supervisors for rectification
Responsibilities
- Ensure all construction activities comply with approved drawings, building codes, and project specifications
- Maintain compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations and promote safe work practices on all project sites
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of site progress, inspections, and construction documentation to project supervisors and engineers
- Support efficient project delivery by coordinating site activities and assisting in resolving construction and compliance issues
Qualification & experience
Qualification, Skills and Experience
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent qualification)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in construction, building supervision support, civil works, or infrastructure projects
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications
- Understanding of Australian building standards, construction methods, and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of construction site processes, materials, and coordination practices
- Strong attention to detail in inspection, reporting, and documentation tasks
- Good communication skills for coordination with engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
- Ability to work in construction site environments and follow WHS requirements
