About the role

This full-time or part -time Bookkeeper Public Practice role at Tony Smith and Associates Central Coast offers an exciting opportunity to join a reputable accounting practice located in Berkeley Vale, NSW. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive bookkeeping services to our diverse client base, helping them maintain accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

What you'll be doing

• Performing routine bookkeeping tasks such as payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and maintaining general ledgers

• Preparing and submitting business activity statements (BAS) and other periodic tax filings on behalf of clients

• Liaising with clients to address queries .

• Assisting with the implementation of accounting software and providing training to clients

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations

• Contributing to the continuous improvement of the firm's bookkeeping processes and procedures

What we're looking for

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, ideally within a public practice environment

• Strong proficiency in using accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks

• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail

• Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines, and manage multiple clients effectively

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients

• Familiarity with Australian taxation requirements and compliance regulations

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in bookkeeping (preferred)
