The Highlands Program is a five-week residential experiential learning program for the Year 9 students from Tanglin Trust School. It plays a significant part in the holistic development of the students by providing a Rite of Passage experience that focusses on developing curiosity, confidence and community in each teenager.
About the role
The position of Boarding House Supervisor is one of significant importance and responsibility.
The Boarding House Supervisor role supports the Leadership Team to create a safe and caring atmosphere throughout the Campus.
Working under the direction of the Office Manager, the Boarding House Supervisor is required to play a key role in the residential program on a day-to-day basis, with particular responsibility for the physical, social and emotional well-being of the students.
The objective of the Boarding House Supervisor is to take the lead in establishing a 'home away from home' environment in which students feel safe, cared for and happy.
Understands the importance of helping young people develop independence, resilience and practical life skills within a structured boarding environment.
This is a casual employment, full-time (38 hours per week) on a rotating roster that includes weekends and evenings for four groups per year that last six weeks each.
Role requirements
Knowledge and understanding of positive behaviour management of students and evidence of effective practice in a range of settings
Experience or involvement in a boarding school, camp or a role with pastoral responsibility of teenagers
Be aware and up to date in all relevant safeguarding and child safety polices and practice
Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs
Working With Children Check (essential)
