Barista

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and friendly Barista to join the team at Lhere Artepe Supermarkets. In this role, you will prepare and serve quality coffee and hot beverages from our in-store hot food and beverage counter, maintain a clean and organised workspace, and provide excellent customer service.

This position is ideal for someone with a passion for coffee, consistency, and service in a fast-paced retail food environment that values cultural respect and community impact.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve coffee and hot beverages to a high standard

- Operate coffee machines and equipment safely and efficiently

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the beverage service area

- Provide friendly, accurate service and respond to customer enquiries

- Assist in managing supplies and restocking as needed

- Follow food hygiene and workplace safety standards

Required Skills and Attributes:

- Experience as a barista or in a similar food/beverage service role

- Passion for coffee and customer satisfaction

- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Reliable and flexible with availability including weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

- Barista training or certification

- Basic understanding of coffee beans, blends, and brewing techniques

Position Conditions (DAMA-Aligned):

- Position is ongoing and non-seasonal

- Minimum 38 hours per week

- Based in Alice Springs and eligible for employer-sponsored visa under DAMA
