KYC Group Pty Ltd, operating Lux barbers and hairdressers its men's grooming and hairdressing salon in Tarneit, is seeking an experienced and passionate Hairdresser/Barber to join our team. Our salon is a established grooming destination offering a wide range of hairdressing, barbering, and styling services. About the Role

The Hairdresser/Barber will be responsible for cutting, styling, colouring and treating hair for both male and female clients. The role requires consultation with clients on suitable styles and treatments, as well as maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, customer service and salon presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Consulting with clients to identify their hair care needs, preferences, and desired styles, and recommending suitable services and products.
• Cutting, trimming, tapering, shaping, layering and styling hair using scissors, clippers and razors for men, women, and children.
• Performing hair colouring services including permanent and semi-permanent colouring, highlights, balayage, bleaching, toning, and colour correction.
• Performing chemical hair treatments such as perming, relaxing, smoothing, keratin treatments, and hair straightening.
• Shampooing, conditioning, and applying scalp and hair treatments based on client hair type and condition.
• Blow drying, setting, and styling hair for everyday wear, formal occasions, weddings, and special events.
• Providing beard trimming, shaping and grooming services, including hot towel and razor finishes for male clients.
• Performing fade, taper, undercut and other contemporary cuts in line with current trends and client preferences.
• Recommending and selling retail hair care products, styling tools, and treatments based on client requirements.
• Maintaining client records, appointment schedules and service histories.
• Sterilising and maintaining all hairdressing tools, equipment and workstations in accordance with Victorian health and hygiene standards.
• Keeping up to date with current trends, techniques, products and styles through ongoing professional development.
• Providing a high standard of customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
• Working collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations of the salon.

Essential Qualifications

• Certificate III in Hairdressing (AQF) or equivalent overseas qualification recognised in Australia.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience as a Hairdresser or Barber or work experience in leiu of qualification.
• Proficiency in cutting, colouring, styling, and chemical treatment techniques for both male and female clients.
• Sound knowledge of hairdressing tools, products, and salon hygiene standards.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, in line with salon operating hours.

Desirable

• Experience working with culturally diverse clientele.
• Experience in a unisex salon or men's grooming environment offering both barbering and hairdressing services.
• Familiarity with bridal, party and event styling.
