Associate Data Consultant

Location : Sydney or Melbourne

Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 + Superannuation

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Data Consultant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an early-career professional who is passionate about data, process improvement, and delivering practical, insight-driven solutions to clients.

You will work closely with senior consultants and client stakeholders to analyse business processes, uncover opportunities for operational improvement, and design scalable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Operational Improvement

Perform process re-engineering design, requirements gathering, and human-centred solution design to improve operational productivity

Identify simplification opportunities using the Lean Six Sigma framework to drive operational efficiency

Data Analysis & Insights

Perform data analysis and extract actionable insights using Python, Power BI, and MS Excel

Develop compelling PowerPoint presentations to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to clients

Data Engineering & Solution Design

Design and build data pipeline solutions using Microsoft Azure

Gather and document technical requirements for:

Data insights solutions

Data warehousing solutions

Data integration solutions

Create high-level:

Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD)

Data Flow Diagrams (DFD)

Solution Architecture Design Diagrams (SADD)

in line with solution design documentation

Data Governance & Quality

Perform analysis of client data governance practices, including:

Data security

Performance optimisation

Governance frameworks

Stability and reliability of data flows

About You

1–3 years’ experience in data consulting, business analysis, or a related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience working with:

Python

Power BI

MS Excel

Microsoft Azure

Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles (certification highly regarded)

Ability to translate complex data insights into clear, client-friendly presentations

Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related discipline
