Comet CX is one of Australia's leading boutique Salesforce partners. We're a regional leader in customer experience consulting, working with clients across a range of verticals to design and deliver Salesforce, Data, and Web platforms that actually move the needle.
We're proudly boutique - small enough that every person matters, big enough to handle serious enterprise work. Our team is energetic, sharp, and genuinely capable, and we hire for both attitude and ability. We invest in our people through certifications, mentoring, and structured career pathways, and we run the business on three values: Competence, Expertise, and Dedication.
Our client base is the kind you want on your CV - established brands, complex problems, and stakeholders who expect serious delivery. We've built our reputation by being the consultancy that finishes what we start, on time, on budget, and with the client wanting more.
We're looking for an Architect to join our Salesforce & Data practice and lead the technical shape of our most interesting engagements. You'll work across solution architecture at the high level and deep technical architecture at the implementation level - we don't separate those two jobs into different roles, and we don't want you to either.
Our architects own the technical integrity of what we build. You'll design end-to-end solutions that span Salesforce, Snowflake, integration platforms, and bespoke data pipelines. You'll work directly with clients in workshops and discovery, translate messy business problems into clean architecture, and then stay close to the build to make sure the solution survives contact with reality.
This is not a PowerPoint architect role. You'll be hands-on with data models, integration patterns, and platform design - and you'll be expected to defend your decisions with detail, not slides.
Design end-to-end solution architectures across Salesforce, Snowflake, integration platforms, and myriad novel systems for our clients
Lead data engineering and data warehousing architecture - modelling, pipelines, governance, performance
Own integration design: patterns, contracts, data flow, failure modes
Run client technical workshops and translate business requirements into solid technical direction
Produce architecture documentation, decision records, and reusable patterns
Provide technical leadership to developers throughout the build - you stay close to delivery, not detached from it
Identify technical risks early and bring options, not just problems
Contribute to and champion technical standards across the practice
Mentor developers and junior architects; raise the technical floor of the team
Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients on strategic technology decisions
The non-negotiables
Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Technical Architect on complex client-facing engagements
Strong data engineering and data warehousing background - Snowflake, Databricks dbt, modern data stack, or equivalent
Deep integration experience: REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven patterns, ETL/ELT, message queues
Ability to leverage AI competently, gaining efficiency without exporting the thinking
Strong data modelling skills
Ability to operate at both heights: high-level solution shape and low-level technical detail
Excellent communication: you can explain architecture to a CFO and a developer in the same week
Pragmatism: you balance technical elegance with commercial reality
Composure and credibility in client-facing technical conversations
Nice to have:
Salesforce platform experience (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud)
AWS or Azure experience
Certifications across Salesforce, Snowflake, AWS, or similar
Experience in consulting or professional services environments
You don't need to be a Salesforce specialist. We hire architects for architectural thinking, data depth, and integration capability. If you're strong on the data and integration side, we'll get you across the Salesforce platform quickly.
What you'll getRemote working with a team that takes the work seriously without taking itself too seriously.
Genuinely novel problems - we don't do cookie-cutter work. Our clients bring us the things their internal teams can't solve.
Heavy exposure to modern data platforms - Snowflake, modern integration tools, and emerging tech. We invest in staying current.
Real career progression - clear pathway from Architect to Senior Architect to Practice Lead, with mentoring, certification support, and visible leadership opportunities along the way.
A capable technical team - you'll work with developers and architects who know what they're doing. No carrying the room.
Hands-on leadership - you'll shape standards, mentor others, and have a real voice in how the practice evolves.
Competitive salary aligned with experience and certifications.
You're someone who:
Cares about getting architecture right, not just getting it signed off
Balances technical elegance with commercial reality without losing either
Surfaces risks early with a recommended path forward
Mentors generously - you measure your success partly by the growth of the people around you
Stays curious about new tools and patterns, and brings them back to the team
Has the steadiness to lead a difficult client conversation without losing their nerve
If you read that list and recognised yourself, we'd love to hear from you.
