We are a family-run agricultural business based in Western Australia, specialising in broadacre cropping and livestock production. Our operations focus on wheat, barley, lupins, oats, canola, and sheep for both meat and wool. Responsibilities:
1. Soil Analysis and Preparation
- Conduct soil sampling and testing to assess nutrient levels, pH, and moisture content.
- Recommend and implement soil improvement measures, including fertiliser, lime, and organic matter application.
- Prepare land through ploughing, tilling, levelling, and other cultivation methods to optimise planting conditions.
2. Planting and Crop Establishment
- Assist in planning and executing crop planting schedules to meet seasonal and production targets.
- Operate and calibrate seeding machinery to ensure accurate depth, spacing, and seed placement.
- Monitor seed quality and assist in selecting seed treatments as required.
3. Crop Maintenance
- Monitor crop growth and health, identifying pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Support crop production and harvesting activities, including soil management, fertiliser and pesticide application.
4. Harvest Planning and Execution
- Assist with planning harvest timelines and logistics in consultation with Farm Managers and Agronomists.
- Operate harvesting equipment to ensure efficient crop collection with minimal losses.
- Oversee and assist with grain handling, storage, and movement to maintain quality standards.
5. Facility Maintenance and Repairs
- Assist in maintaining farm infrastructure, fencing, equipment, and machinery.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and infrastructure, including chemical storage areas, to identify and address maintenance or repair needs.
6. Livestock Support
- Provide support for livestock activities as required, including feeding, watering, and general care of animals.
7. Record-Keeping and Compliance
- Maintain accurate farm records using AgWorld or other farm management software, including chemical registers and maintenance logs.
- Ensure compliance with WHS (Work Health and Safety) protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
Experience requirements:
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role
