We're a proudly Australian-owned manufacturer, building high-quality trailers from the ground up right here in Adelaide. Known for quality workmanship, practical thinking and doing things properly, we continue to improve and evolve our workshop through stronger systems, standard work and Lean manufacturing principles.

We're continuing to build a workshop focused on strong systems, efficient workflow and continuous improvement.

We're now looking for an Advanced Welder / Fabricator to help us continue building that environment.

About the Role

We're looking for a highly capable tradesperson who can remain hands-on building trailers while running a production bay, thinking beyond their own work area, identifying issues early, protecting workflow and helping strengthen overall workshop performance.

This isn't a role where your value is measured purely by the quality of your welds. We're looking for someone who naturally thinks ahead, sees issues before they become problems and understands that what happens in their bay impacts the next bay, the next department and ultimately the customer.

Following systems, build books, Lean principles and standard work is a major part of this role. We want someone who improves processes rather than works around them.

This role isn't for someone who simply wants to complete their own work and move on to the next job. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, identifies issues early and understands the bigger picture of how a workshop performs.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding and fabrication work to a high standard
• Read and confidently interpret fabrication drawings
• Run and coordinate work within a production bay
• Keep trailers moving efficiently through your area
• Identify bottlenecks and escalate issues early
• Solve day-to-day production issues independently
• Follow and reinforce build books, standard work and workshop systems
• Support apprentices and team members
• Drive improvements, reduce waste and strengthen workflow
• Think about buildability and practical outcomes
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient work area

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualified Welder / Fabricator
• Strong MIG welding and fabrication experience
• Confident reading and interpreting drawings
• Able to run and coordinate work within a production bay
• Requires minimal supervision
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Thinks beyond their immediate work area
• Takes ownership naturally
• Holds themselves and others to a high standard
• Supports team members and apprentices naturally
• Strong focus on quality, workflow and safety
• Comfortable working within systems and standard work
• Looks for improvements rather than workarounds

Requirements

• Full Australian working rights
• Must currently reside in South Australia or be able to attend interviews and weld testing in Adelaide
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
• Must be willing to complete a police clearance if required
• Current driver's licence required
• Forklift licence advantageous but not essential
