Position Overview
As an Accountant, you will be an integral part of our finance team and play a pivotal role in supporting our core accounting operations. You will be responsible for managing and overseeing all financial operations of the company. This role requires strong financial acumen and commitment to ensure financial accuracy. We are looking for someone who is eager to grow with the company and build a long-term career with us.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare financial statements, reports, and monthly financial analysis in line with Australian accounting standards and regulations.
Manage taxation obligations, including income tax, GST, BAS, and other regulatory requirements, ensuring full compliance.
Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and financial projections to ensure efficient resource allocation and optimal cash flow management.
Provide regular financial performance analysis and reporting to management to aid strategic decision-making and business development.
Assist with internal and external audits and ensure risk management processes are in place to safeguard company assets and financial health.
Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions.
Oversee the timely and accurate processing of payroll, reconciliation/s including superannuation, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
Collaborate with external accountants for year-end processes.
Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, contributing to their development and ensuring high standards in the team’s work.
Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies and financial institutions.
Experience & Qualifications:
A minimum of 1+ years’ accounting experience in the insulation or construction industry.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards, taxation law and financial compliance.
Proficient in accounting software/s (e.g. MYOB, Xero or similar)
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Strong financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting skills.
Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
