Tasks & responsibilities
- Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts in collaboration with projectmanagers, using historical data and market trends.
- Monitor and track project costs, including materials, Labour, subcontractors, andequipment, and compare actual expenses against budgeted amounts.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurateinvoicing, payments, and follow-up on overdue accounts.
- Oversee cash flow management to ensure adequate funds are available for ongoingprojects and operational needs.
- Prepare and file GST returns, payroll tax, and income tax returns while stayingcurrent with tax laws and regulations.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for costreduction and revenue optimization.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensurecompliance with accounting policies and standards.
- Support external audits by preparing financial information, assisting with fieldwork,and addressing auditor inquiries.
- Utilize accounting software and ERP systems for accurate record-keeping, reporting,and streamlining financial processes.
- Review project contracts and agreements for accurate financial representation andrisk assessment.
- Identify potential financial risks in construction projects, including cost overruns anddelays, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Effectively communicate financial data and insights to non-financial colleagues toalign financial goals with project objectives.
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience of minimum 3-4 years in a similar role, preferably within theconstruction or project-based industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reportingstandards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex financialinformation to non-financial stakeholders.
