The successful applicant will be responsible for planning, delivering and evaluating engaging secondary school learning programs in accordance with the NSW curriculum and NESA requirements.

Task & responsibilities

• Planning, preparing and delivering effective secondary school lessons
• Developing and implementing curriculum and teaching programs in accordance with the NSW curriculum and NESA requirements
• Establishing and maintaining a caring, supportive and stimulating classroom environment
• Providing differentiated learning experience that respond to students' individual needs, abilities and learning styles
• Setting clear learning objectives and maintaining high expectations for student achievement
• Using formative and summative assessment to monitor student progress and inform teaching practice
• Maintaining accurate records of student achievement, assessment and progress
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive and orderly learning environment
• Supporting the academic, social, emotional and personal development of students
• Communicating and working collaboratively with parents and carers regarding students' educational development
• Participating in staff meetings, professional development and other school activities as required
• Contributing to extracurricular activities, school events and the wider school community
• Maintaining professional accreditation and undertaking ongoing professional development as required
• Complying with school policies and procedures, including child protection, student welfare, workplace health and safety and professional conduct requirements
• Supporting and promoting the Christian ethos and educational philosophy of the school

Qualification & experience

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of secondary education curriculum and teaching practices
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging learning programs that cater for a range of abilities and learning needs
• Strong classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine commitment to supporting children's academic, personal and spiritual growth
• Current Working with Children Check clearance (or ability to obtain one)
• A willingness to actively support and contribute to the Christian values, mission and ethos of Carinya Christian School
