Position description / duties

• Carry out painting and protective coating works on façades, balconies and other elevated

structures while working on rope

• Prepare surfaces for painting (pressure washing, sanding, scraping, patching, priming)

• Apply paints, coatings and sealants by brush, roller and spray

• Access work areas using approved rope access techniques and equipment

• Rig, inspect and dismantle rope access systems in line with safety procedures

• Carry out pre-use inspections and maintain rope access equipment and PPE

• Follow SWMS, site rules and WHS requirements at all times

• Deliver painting work to the required quality standard, on time and to specification

• Travel to project sites in the ACT and Queensland when required

• Communicate with supervisors, clients and other trades on site

Skills and experience required

• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a related role

• Current rope access qualification (IRATA or SPRAT) or equivalent

• Experience painting at heights on façades or high-rise buildings

• Current NSW General Construction Induction (White Card), or ability to obtain the equivalent for

other states

• Sound knowledge of WHS requirements and safe rope access practices

• Willingness and flexibility to travel to the ACT and Queensland as required

• Good physical fitness and comfort working at heights

• Good English communication skills

• Reliable, attentive to detail and a strong team player

• Certificate III in Painting or apprenticeship is desirable
