The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of carpentry and building tasks across residential and/or commercial construction projects. The role requires a practical approach, attention to detail, good workmanship and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a construction team.

Read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications.
Measure, mark and set out construction areas accurately.
Perform general carpentry and construction work.
Construct, install and repair timber and other building structures.
Carry out framing, flooring, roofing and related carpentry works.
Install doors, windows, architraves, skirting and other fixtures.
Undertake cutting, shaping and joining of timber and other materials.
Use hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment safely and effectively.
Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications.
Repair and maintain existing structures where required.
Work cooperatively with builders, tradespeople and other site personnel.
Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and site requirements.
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Carpenter.
Relevant trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent practical experience is desirable.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.
Sound knowledge of carpentry methods, materials and construction practices.
Competent use of carpentry hand tools and power tools.
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and time-management skills.
Understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
Current driver's licence is desirable.
