Alfaa Pty Ltd trading as Hello Neighbour, Artusi by Night is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join its kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, maintaining consistent food quality and presentation, and following food safety and hygiene standards. The Cook will work closely with the kitchen team to support smooth daily operations and ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard. Previous experience in a similar role, good knowledge of cooking techniques, and a strong passion for food are essential.

Task & responsibilities

• Inspect and assess food items to ensure quality and freshness.
• Operate and regulate ovens, grills, and other kitchen equipment at appropriate temperatures.
• Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to menu standards.
• Enhance and refine flavours throughout the cooking process to ensure consistent and high quality taste profiles 
• Portion food accurately, plate dishes, and add sauces, gravies, and garnishes as required.
• Store food safely in temperature-controlled environments to maintain quality and comply with food safety standards. 
• Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements when requested.
• Assist with menu planning and estimating food requirements when needed. 
• Support and train junior kitchen staff and apprentices as required.

Qualification & experience

• Minimum of Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent or equivalent work experience 
• Minimum 3 year of experience in related position.
• In-depth knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
