RABJONES PTY LTD- The trustee for Rabjones family trust is seeking an experienced Roof Tiler to join our team. We welcome applications from both experienced roofers and motivated people with limited experience who are keen to learn the trade.

Our work locations range from Greenbank and southside of Brisbane

The applicant must be willing to travel to different job sites across these areas.

The role involves installing flashings, completing finishing and rectification works, and carrying out roofing repairs and maintenance across residential and commercial properties. Experienced applicants will have the opportunity to put their skills to use, while those entering the trade will receive training and support to develop their capabilities.

Benefits

Depending on the skills and experience, the salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $85,000 plus superannuation per annum.

Task & responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Planning and Preparation:

•             Study architectural drawings, job specifications, and work sites to figure out what materials are needed.

•             Set up safe access equipment, including erecting ladders and scaffolds..

Waterproofing and Underlay:

•             Place and secure waterproof sheets over eaves.

•             Nail and staple roofing underlay (sarking) to the roof structure

Laying and Securing Tiles:

•             Align starter rows of roofing material with roof edges.

•             Secure tiles using wire, staples, and nails while overlapping successive layers.

•             Fix edge and ridge tiles firmly in cement mortar

Cutting and Fitting:

•             Size and cut roofing materials to fit snugly around vents, chimney edges, corners, and ridges.

•             Slip roofing materials under pre-fabricated flashing and nail them down.

Sealing and Finishing:

•             Caulk and flash exposed nail heads to stop leaks and weatherproof the roof. 

Occupational Health and Safety

•             Work with team members and supervisors to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time and to specification.

•             Maintain tools and equipment and follow all site health and safety requirements.

•             Document completed work and communicate progress or issues to supervisors.

Qualification & experience

QUALIFICATIONS/ WORK EXPERIENCE: 

•             Minimum 1 years work experience as a Roof Tiler is essential 

•             Previous experience in metal roofing, flashing installation, finishing work or repairs is highly regarded

•             Relevant trade qualifications are also an advantage.

SKILLS

•             Must be willing to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays 

•             A strong work ethic, a positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn.

•             Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

•             A current White Card, or willingness to obtain one before commencing work on site.

•             Ability to undertake physical outdoor work and follow safe work practices, including when working at heights.

•             A reliable, professional approach, with good communication and teamwork skills.

•             A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to job sites
