VLI Conveyors is an established Australian bulk materials handling business with more than 30 years of industry experience. We provide conveyor maintenance, belt splicing, rubber lining, repairs and technical services to customers across the mining and industrial sectors.
Our business foundation is built upon strategic acquistitions and mergers of well- respected brand names such as Tyton, PitTop and Unirod. The amalgamations have contributed to VLI Conveyors' extensive experience and broad range of products and services.
Our team is growing, and we are looking for a full-time fitter to join our Kalgoorlie branch. The primary objective of the role is to fault find and proactively repair machinery and conduct preventative maintenance of conveyor systems, equipment and associated mechanical components.
Perform mechanical fitting, maintenance, repair and servicing of conveyor systems, equipment and associated mechanical components
Install, assemble, dismantle and commission mechanical equipment and conveyor components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturer requirements
Repair, replace, align and adjust mechanical components including bearings, pulleys, rollers, shafts, couplings, drives, gearboxes, motors and associated equipment
Undertake preventative and scheduled maintenance activities on conveyor systems, plant and mechanical equipment.
Perform mechanical alignment, measurement, adjustment and assembly to required tolerances and specifications.
Assist with shutdown and field service works, including planned maintenance, equipment replacement, installation and repair activities.
Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner / Mechanical Fitter or equivalent Australian-recognized qualification.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a fitter
Experience in mining, bulk materials handling or heavy industrial sectors will be highly regarded
Strong mechanical fitting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and machinery.
Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering and mechanical drawings.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components and equipment.
Competent in the assembly, disassembly, installation, alignment and adjustment of mechanical equipment.
Ability to accurately measure, inspect and work to specified tolerances.
Strong commitment to WHS in workplace
