The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and repairing a variety of light motor vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical faults using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures.
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions and mechanical components.
- Inspect and repair braking, steering and suspension systems.
- Test and adjust mechanical components following repairs.
- Carry out engine tune-ups and performance checks.
- Identify worn or defective parts and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Ensure work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant Motor Mechanic experience.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Current driver's licence preferred.
