We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Aged or Disabled Carer to join our team and provide high-quality support tailored to each client’s individual needs and care plan.

The Aged or Disabled Carer will assist clients with personal care, mobility, household activities, community participation and other daily living requirements. The position requires a respectful, person-centred approach and the ability to support clients while encouraging independence and choice.

Task & responsibilities

•    Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and personal hygiene.

•    Assist clients with mobility, transfers, positioning and the use of mobility equipment.

•    Support clients with meal preparation, eating and maintaining appropriate nutrition and hydration.

•    Provide medication assistance or reminders in accordance with care plans and organisational procedures.

•    Assist with household tasks, including cleaning, laundry, shopping and maintaining a safe living environment.

•    Transport and accompany clients to appointments, community activities, employment, education and social engagements.

•    Support clients to develop and maintain daily living and independent-living skills.

•    Implement individual care plans, behaviour-support strategies and risk-management procedures.

•    Provide companionship, emotional support and meaningful social engagement.

•    Observe clients’ physical, emotional and behavioural wellbeing and promptly report changes or concerns.

•    Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports and service records.

•    Communicate respectfully with clients, families, healthcare professionals and other support providers.

•    Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow established reporting procedures.

•    Protect clients’ dignity, privacy, confidentiality, cultural identity and personal choices.

•    Comply with NDIS requirements, workplace health and safety obligations and organisational policies.


Qualification & experience

The successful applicant should possess:

•    a Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Ageing, Aged Care or an equivalent relevant qualification;

•    relevant experience providing aged-care or disability-support services;

•    current First Aid and CPR certificates;

•    a current NDIS Worker Screening Check;

•    a National Police Check;

•    a Working with Children Check where required;

•    a current Australian driver’s licence and reliable transport;

•    knowledge of person-centred care and individual support plans; and

•    experience completing care notes, incident reports and other service documentation.
