Task & responsibilities
- Build and assemble light vehicles' mechanical components according to requirements
- Inspect vehicles and run diagnostic tests to discover mechanical and electrical functionality issues
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures for vehicle users
- Keep logs of work and report on issues
- Running diagnostic tests on vehicles
- Analysing diagnostic test results
- Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking system
- Checking vehicle lighting systems
- Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
- Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks
- Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
- Maintaining a parts inventory
- Various other duties in line with this role as directed by site supervisor
Qualification & experience
- Certificate 3, Certificate 4 or Diploma in automotive repair or related field.
- Proven experience as a motor mechanic - minimum 1 year
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Valid driver's license
