About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and capable Retail Manager (General) to manage and coordinate the daily operations of our Subway restaurant in Modbury.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining efficient store operations, supervising staff, managing stock and suppliers, maintaining service standards, monitoring sales and costs, and ensuring compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety and company procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Organise and control the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
• Determine appropriate product mix, stock levels and service standards.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate ordering and replenishment of food, packaging and other supplies.
• Receive, inspect and store stock in accordance with food safety and business procedures.
• Monitor stock usage, wastage and inventory levels.
• Assist with purchasing and supplier coordination.
• Implement pricing, promotional and marketing activities in accordance with business requirements.
• Promote the restaurant's products and services and maintain high customer service standards.
• Handle customer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales, expenses and other financial transactions.
• Monitor daily sales, operating costs and business performance.
• Assist with budgeting and cost-control activities.
• Prepare staff rosters according to business requirements and anticipated customer demand.
• Coordinate the selection, induction, training and supervision of employees.
• Allocate duties and supervise staff during trading periods.
• Monitor employee performance and provide appropriate guidance and training.
• Ensure staff follow food preparation, hygiene, cleanliness and service procedures.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards throughout the restaurant.
• Coordinate opening and closing procedures.
• Ensure equipment, facilities and the restaurant premises are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
• Assist with implementing operational procedures and improving efficiency.
• Monitor customer service, product quality and presentation.
• Ensure Subway operational standards and business procedures are consistently followed.

Skills & Experience

• One year experience in retail, hospitality, quick-service restaurants or a similar management environment.
• Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating staff.
• Strong understanding of stock control and ordering procedures.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing operational priorities.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety and food safety requirements.
• Ability to maintain financial, stock and operational records.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required
