Cook – Full Time

Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation

Full-time – 38 hours per week

Panlasang Pinoy is an established family-owned restaurant specialising in authentic Filipino cuisine. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our team in Kogarah on a full-time basis.

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality Filipino dishes, maintaining consistent food preparation standards and supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Task & responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities include:

• Preparing and cooking meals in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards
• Preparing, cooking and presenting a range of Filipino dishes
• Checking the quality of ingredients and prepared food
• Portioning food and ensuring consistency in preparation and presentation
• Operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Monitoring food stock and advising when supplies need replenishment
• Storing, freezing and preserving food correctly to maintain freshness and minimise waste
• Following established kitchen procedures and food preparation methods
• Working closely with chefs, kitchen staff and waiting staff to ensure efficient service
• Assisting with the organisation and cleanliness of food preparation and storage areas
• Working efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining food quality

Qualification & experience

Qualifications and experience:

• Relevant commercial cookery qualification cert IV plus 2 years of experirence
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
• Atleast 3 years  of closely related experience will substitute for formal qualifications.
• Experience preparing Filipino cuisine is highly regarded
• Sound knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen
• Good communication, organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a kitchen team
