A Solid Plasterer is responsible for repairing, restoring, and finishing concrete and masonry surfaces by applying cement-based renders, patching compounds, and plaster systems. The role focuses on producing high-quality architectural concrete finishes while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

JOB DUTIES
- Inspecting concrete surfaces and identifying defects, imperfections, cracks, voids, honeycombing and areas requiring repair or finishing.
- Preparing concrete surfaces for patching and finishing by grinding, sanding, cleaning and removing loose or defective materials
- Mixing and preparing patching, repair and finishing materials to achieve the required consistency, finish and colour.
- Repairing damaged or defective concrete surfaces including cracks, holes, voids, edges, corners, columns, walls, ceilings and other concrete elements.
- Applying base coats, patching compounds and skim coats to concrete surfaces using hand tools and plastering techniques.
- Levelling, shaping and finishing repaired surfaces to match surrounding concrete and achieve the required smoothness and appearance.
- Sanding, rubbing, polishing and refining finished surfaces to remove imperfections and achieve the specified architectural concrete finish.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carrying out colour matching and surface finishing work so repaired areas blend consistently with existing concrete surfaces
- Applying sealers and protective surface treatments after completion of patching and finishing work when required.
- Using hand and power tools, including grinders, sanders, trowels and other concrete patching and plastering equipment, in a safe and effective manner.
- Reading site requirements, identifying areas requiring rectification and completing repairs in accordance with project quality standards.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas and following site safety procedures while coordinating work with supervisors, builders and other trades.
- Applying micro cement to all different substrates and venetian plasters.
Qualification & experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Certificate III in Solid Plastering, Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining, or an equivalent trade qualification (preferred).
- At least 1-year full time work experience in solid plastering, rendering, or concrete patching
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) required to work on Australian construction sites.
- Current driver's licence (preferred for travelling between job sites).
- Experience in solid plastering, rendering, or concrete patching.
- Knowledge of cementitious repair materials and rendering techniques.
- Ability to read construction drawings and follow specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with high-quality finishing skills.
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) and relevant trade qualifications are generally preferred.
