Vivad manufactures Large format digital print products and is currently going through major growth.

We are looking for an experienced person to manufacture and repair banners, marquees, exhibition graphics as well as a range of bespoke projects.

This full-time position is based in our Campbellfield, Victoria facility.

Task & responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales department to provide technical input such as ideal seam, hem, and thread options; and labour time estimates. 
  • Assembling frames, and fitting fabricated covers on them. 
  • Repair existing banners to extend their lifespan (eg replacing reinforcement, altering dimensions, re-sewing, repairing damage)
  • Measure, cut, prepare and assemble materials for upholstery and fabrication.
  • Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch and assemble heavy‑duty textile and vinyl products.
  • Use machinery to install eyelets, trims and keder webbing tape as part of finishing and assembly processes.
  • Fit padding into bespoke three-dimensional objects (eg triangular football field structures)
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and carry out basic maintenance and adjustments.
  • Inspect materials and finished items to identify defects and maintain quality standards including removing stains. 
  • Lead the upholstery team as required. 

Qualification & experience

• Formal qualifications in Fashion, Upholstery or related field

• Experience with fabrication and upholstery

• Proven experience as an industrial sewing machinist

• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, patterns, and specifications

• Excellent hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and attention to detail

• Commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work environment

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions
