This is a full-time position offering 38 hours per week.
The successful applicant will provide clinical and chairside support to our dentists and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance to dentists during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms, dental instruments, equipment and materials
- Assist dentists with a range of general dental procedures
- Clean, disinfect and sterilise dental instruments and equipment
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures and relevant practice protocols
- Prepare patients for treatment and assist with patient care before, during and after procedures
- Maintain clean, organised and appropriately stocked treatment rooms
- Maintain accurate clinical and patient records
- Provide professional, friendly and respectful care to patients
- Work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, reception staff and other members of the dental team
- Undertake other clinical and practice-related duties as required
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant must have:
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a Dental Assistant
- Sound knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and equipment
- Experience with dental instrument sterilisation and infection control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A professional, friendly and patient-focused manner
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy dental practice
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and infection control
