Maintenance Technique are seeking a 3D Draftsperson or Tradesperson with significant drafting / Inventor experience to join our engineering team in Townsville.

Flexible Hours | Full-Time or Negotiable Arrangement

This is an office-based role focused on the design and development of components and assemblies for underground mechanised and automated drilling equipment. You will work closely with our engineering and maintenance departments to develop practical, serviceable, and production-ready designs using Autodesk Inventor.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Producing 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor

• Designing components and assemblies for underground drill rigs and mining equipment

• Modifying and improving existing designs and equipment

• Creating workshop-ready fabrication and machining drawings

• Assisting with product development and engineering projects

• Liaising with our manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to ensure designs are practical and fit for purpose

• Managing drawing revisions and maintaining drawing standards/documentation

About You

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

• Experience using Autodesk Inventor (essential)

• Mechanical drafting or design experience in mining, heavy equipment, fabrication, or manufacturing industries

• Strong understanding of mechanical components, fabrication, machining, and hydraulic systems

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and organisational abilities

• Trade or engineering background highly regarded but not essential
