Modus Brewing is a vibrant and fast-growing craft brewery located in Merewether, featuring a full freight commercial brewery that draws in locals and visitors alike. Now, we’re looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Venue/Events Coordinator to join our team and help us keep the good times rolling.

About the Role

As our new Assistant Venue/Events Coordinator, you will work closely with the Venue Manager to ensure the venue runs smoothly while keeping customer satisfaction at the forefront. If you love creating memories, fast paced venues, have a knack for hospitality and thrive in a team-oriented environment, we want to hear from you!

This role will involve a rotating roster of days, nights, and weekends, so flexibility is a must. In addition to your regular duties, you will be hands-on in training and guiding the team, generating new business, managing events and ensuring our venue continues to shine.

Key Responsibilities

• Exceptional Service: Represent Modus Brewing and our beers, sharing knowledge about our brewing process and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Your ability to operate beyond standard pub service is crucial. The quality of our beverages, service, and food is what keeps customers coming back, and you’ll be key in making that happen.

• Event & Functions Management: Oversee and manage venue events, including function bookings, special occasions, weddings, product launches and festivals. Your experience in managing and generating events will be highly valued.

• Training & Development: Collaborate with the Venue Manager on staff training, product knowledge and service procedures. Ensure that the team is always equipped to represent Modus Brewing to its fullest.

• Brewery Tours & Business Operations: Learn the operations of the whole business to assist with brewery tours and support other business needs such as sporting events, festivals, and tastings when required.

• Inventory & Venue Management: Oversee bar and venue inventory management, including ordering food, beverages and merchandise, and ensure that general venue maintenance is maintained at a high standard.

• Customer Experience: Manage the front-of-house to ensure presentation, bar procedures, and customer service are always at the highest standard. Foster strong communication and teamwork between front-of-house, kitchen and brewing teams.

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a friendly, approachable personality with a strong focus on customer service.

• The ability to generate new event opportunities.

• Has event and function experience.

• Experience in hospitality management or a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
